WHY DOES FIT MATTER?
Good clothing looks good on the rack; great clothing looks amazing on you. We know that fit is what makes you turn to your wardrobe go-tos over and over again. You look and feel great in them, every time you wear them. That's our goal with every piece we make.

THE DOBBIN FIT
To perfect out fit, we use every trick in the book, so we can produce tailored clothing that's still as comfortable as loungewear all day long. Whether it's the shape of the shoulders, the size of the armholes, the construction of the waist or the flare of the skirt, we build clothing that takes intoaccount the parts of a woman's body that sometimes need extra consideration.

HOW WE DO IT
We admit it: we're kind of obsessed with fit. So we only work with the best, most senior patternmakers in the business. We have an extensive fit process, and test our clothing on fit models and real customers, up and down the entire size range. And we manufacture right here in NYC, so we can manage the entire process in a hands-on way, tweaking clothing even midway through production, to make sure everything lives up to our very high standards.

CAN I TAILOR YOUR CLOTHING?
Absolutely! While we do everything we can to make our dresses look great on as wide an array of women as possible, spending a small amount with your tailor to personalize a dress is money that's always well spent. We create our dresses in ways that make tailoring easy, with generous seam allowances, and construction that's simple to alter. Your tailor or seamstress will be able to make a Dobbin dress fit perfectly just for you.

WHERE ARE THE SIZE CHARTS?
Throughout our fit process, we take into account the specific shape of each piece's design when sizing our clothes. So we don't have a single, one-size-fits-all size chart. Instead, you'll find an individual size chart on each of our products' pages. Just scroll down to below the description, and click the 'size chart' tab.

Our number sizing is consistent - if you're an 8 in one of our dresses, you're likely an 8 in almost all of them. But because every woman's body is unique, you can use each piece's precise measurements to spot-check the details. If you're in between sizes, you're best erring towards the piece that matches your largest measurement.

HOW DO I MEASURE MYSELF?
Bust: Wrap the measuring tape under your arms and around the widest part of your bust. Our fit is friendly so try not to pull the tape measure too tight.

Waist: Place the measuring tape around your natural waist - the point at which you bend over.

Hips: Stand with your feet together and measure around the widest part of your hips. Keep the tape measure straight for an accurate measurement.
