Why Dobbin

When you buy clothing at a department store or boutique, you're just not getting your money's worth. As much as 85% of the retail price goes to pay steep markups by both the store and the fashion label.

Dobbin sources high-end fabrics from the same European mills as luxury fashion brands, and produces its clothes side by side with those brands in the same top-tier New York factories.

But by selling only directly online, Dobbin doesn't have to cover the same expensive overhead. So we can price our entire line under $200, while pieces sewn next to ours from the same fabrics sell in department stores for $500–or even $1500.

Our clothes don't just look good on the page, they look great on our customers.

That's because we put fit first in our design process.  We think about how women will feel, use and move in our clothing.

We start our extensive fit process with a size 8 fit model, then test each of our pieces on live fit models up and down the size range, to ensure our silhouettes are tailored, flattering and comfortable on a variety of body types.

We think fashion can stand for something. Even though we're a forward-looking, web-based company, we also admire the iconic New York sportswear designers and department stores that built America's garment industry.

So we're committed to manufacturing 100% in the USA. We strive to provide excellent, personalized customer service. We design chic, wearable basics that are meant to be worn season after season. And we use primarily washable fabrics, to reduce the impact of dry cleaning on the environment—and your wallet.
